Indications

• Pre-existing hypertension complicating pregnancy (O10): pre-existing essential hypertension complicating pregnancy (O10.0); pre-existing hypertensive heart disease complicating pregnancy (O10.1); pre-existing hypertensive renal disease complicating pregnancy (O10.2); pre-existing secondary hypertension complicating pregnancy (O10.4); unspecified pre-existing hypertension complicating pregnancy (O10.9)
• Gestational (pregnancy-induced) hypertension without significant proteinuria (O13)
• Venous complications in pregnancy (O22): varicose veins of the lower limbs in pregnancy (O22.1)
• Haemorrhoids in pregnancy (O22.4)
• Infections of the genitourinary tract in pregnancy (O23): infections of the kidney in pregnancy (O23.0); infections of the bladder in pregnancy (O23.1); infections of the urethra in pregnancy (O23.2)
• Diabetes mellitus in pregnancy (O24): pre-existing non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (O24.1); diabetes mellitus arising during pregnancy (O24.2)
• Maternal care for other conditions predominantly related to pregnancy (O26): care for a woman with recurrent pregnancy loss (after inpatient investigation and treatment) (O26.2); maternal hypotension syndrome (O26.5)
• Maternal care for known or suspected abnormality of the pelvic organs (O34): maternal care due to uterine scar from previous surgery (a sound scar on ultrasound) up to 28 weeks (O34.2); maternal care for cervical incompetence (O34.3)
• Maternal care for other known or suspected fetal problems (O36): maternal care for rhesus isoimmunisation (O36.1); maternal care for other forms of isoimmunisation (O36.1); maternal care for signs of fetal hypoxia (O36.3); maternal care for poor fetal growth (intrauterine growth restriction no higher than grade 1) (O36.5)
• Placental disorders (O43): malformation of the placenta (O43.1); other placental disorders (O43.8). Grade I anaemia complicating pregnancy (O99.0)
• Endocrine and metabolic diseases complicating pregnancy (O99.2): obesity, non-toxic nodular (euthyroid) goitre, grade I hypothyroidism
• Diseases of the circulatory system complicating pregnancy (O99.4): chronic rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart defects, condition after heart surgery, metabolic cardiomyopathy, neurocirculatory dystonia, grade I hypertensive heart disease. Diseases of the respiratory system complicating pregnancy (O99.5)
• Diseases of the digestive system complicating pregnancy (O99.6)

Contraindications

• Gestational hypertension with significant proteinuria (O14); eclampsia in pregnancy (O15.0); haemorrhage in early pregnancy (O20); excessive vomiting in pregnancy (O21); placenta praevia (O44); other placental disorders (low-lying placenta) (O43.8); maternal care due to uterine scar from previous surgery beyond 28 weeks (O34.2); maternal care for rhesus isoimmunisation beyond 28 weeks (O36.0); maternal care for other forms of isoimmunisation beyond 28 weeks (O36.1)
• Varicose veins of the genital organs in pregnancy (O22.1); superficial thrombophlebitis in pregnancy (O22.2); deep vein thrombophlebitis in pregnancy (O22.3); cerebral venous thrombosis in pregnancy (O22.5)
• Unspecified urinary tract infection in pregnancy (O23.4); infections of the genital tract in pregnancy (O23.5)
• Pre-existing insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (O24.0); severe insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus arising during pregnancy (O24.4)
• Herpes gestationis (O26.4)
• Chromosomal or genetic abnormalities found on antenatal screening of the mother (O28.5)
• Grade II and III anaemia complicating pregnancy (O99.0); thyrotoxicosis (E05) of primary and secondary origin with marked complications and hormonal disturbances
• Severe concurrent conditions: uncompensated diabetes mellitus (E10–E14); epilepsy (G40–G40.9); human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease (B20–B24)
• General contraindications to referral to a rehabilitation department

• Drinking hydrotherapy (mineral water). Dietary meals: five times a day
